AUTOMATED INFORMATION SYSTEM

The system automates storage of images, documents, musical and video files and their characteristics (description) in information base and provides access and their retrieval from the base by set criteria for search.
The system has been designed to support the activities of publishers and electronic media, creation of archives with images and audio-visual files, their maintenance and use in the work process.

Functional characteristics:

Maintenance of information characteristics for each image/audio/video/textual object, for automated search and retrieval by set criteria;

Creation of image file through Windows clipboard

Activities:

Entry of the entities and their characteristics (number of registration, date of creation, source, author, title, number of publication, page, archive number, annotation, rubric, topic, etc.;

Update/deletion of data about the entities;

Queries by set parameters from the information entity characteristics;

Options for examination of the information entities and their characteristics, retrieval of the textual part in output files or retrieval of image /audio/video/ text files;

Maintenance of journal for the performed activities for control and statistics provision;

Administrator’s activity;

Maintenance of dictionaries and classifiers;

The automated information system "Photo Archive” has been designed to operate within the environment of the operating systems Unix, Linux, Windows 2003, XP, 2000, NT, 98, etc. As Database Management System can be used any relational DBMS relevant to the requirements of the SQL ANSI standard - Oracle, Informix, SyBase, MS SQL Server, etc.
